Welcome to the website of the GEZUVOR VW Club Switzerland! (deutsche Version) It's been on a cold evening in spring 2001 when a bunch of VW-crazy guys hung out at their favourite pub in the swiss town Fribourg. As usual, they've been dreaming of cruising down the endless boulevards along the pacific ocean in their cal look bugs. From street to street, the Empi GT steering wheel in one hand, the Hurst Shifter in the other hand. In their heads they even thought to hear the unique sound of stroker engines, the gorgeous mixture made of the exhaust roaring, the noise of the 48 IDAs and the screaming of the straight cut timing gears. Anyway, Orange County ain't western Switzerland and there weren't any volkswagen meetings around at that moment, but the guys decided to form the premier swiss cal look club called GEZUVOR. After the beginning with the three founding members the GEZUVOR VW Club has grown to a community of seven enthusiasts, adoring traditional california look cars. We're a club with no president, no treasurer and no comitee sit-ins. It's all about camaraderie, friendship and the pleasures of building and driving tuned up Volkswagens. All of the club cars are influenced by the original california look. We've chosen the name GEZUVOR according to the tradition of "german" sounding names of the legendary VW Clubs like "Der Kleiner Panzers" or "Der Volks Brückenaufbau". Originally, GEZUVOR means Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des deutschen Volkswagens (Society for the development of the people's car) which has later been replaced by Volkswagenwerk GmbH. That's about it, have fun with our website! |
